Fall 2022. Hudson River Paddle

Second season. Now full-time. Learning what it truly means to be a ski instructor. I traveled to Vermont, experiencing the baptism of “skiing the East.” I made friends with ice and graduated from the magic carpet. I attended the PSIA Women’s Summit at Stowe. Two incredible veteran instructors, who believed in me, offered to sponsor my Level 2. I memorized the fundamentals, practiced my wedge christies, and in late March, I went to Okemo to ski for the examiners. They called my name for the silver pin. Then, a client-turned-friend brought me to Copper Mountain, where I took him into the high alpine to search for corn. For a Colorado kid who started teaching in the East, it felt like coming full circle. I had skied my way home.
